Recommendations for MHSAA powerlifting in 2021

Goal: Reduce the time of the meet and lower the number of people in the venue.

Powerlifting Sites and Dates

2021 Powerlifting Meets

6 teams maximum per meet

6 x 12 = 72 lifters

2 Sessions– Only the lifters in the session will be allowed in the venue.

Boys Meet        Girls Meet

First Session                 114-198            97-148              36 lifters

Second Session             220- SHW         165-SHW          36 lifters

Sessions by the number

36 lifters with 2 platforms

Use a 7 lift meet system 36 X 7 =252 attempts    126 per platform at 1 minute per lift

Time to complete session 2-2.5 hours

Other recommendation: Divisions and Regions that only have 3 or less team participation should not actually have a meet. Those 12 lifters on each team will move on to the next round. As usual a team can only have at most two lifters in each weight with a total of 12 lifters.
