MHSAA schools win $1,000 prizes in Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi contest

Six MHSAA member schools that played in last weekend’s Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Gridiron Classic state football championships will collect $1,000 prizes for winning in the seventh annual Text to Win contest.

The week-long contest matched schools and communities against their football opponents November 30thand December 1stat M.M. Contest winning schools were: Oak Grove (Class 6A); West Jones (Class 5A); Louisville (Class 4A); Seminary (Class 3A); Scott Central (Class 2A); and Nanih Waiya (Class 1A). Each school will receive a check for $1,000 designated for its physical education department from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi.

“Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is proud to support Mississippi high school athletics and physical education,” said Meredith Bailess, Director, Corporate Communications for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi. “We believe these programs are helping to establish a strong foundation for healthy habits throughout life. Our partnership with the Mississippi High School Activities Association furthers our shared commitment to a healthy future for our students and our state.”
