2021 MHSAA Invitational Press Release
Saturday, March 20, 2021 JP Coleman State Park, Pickwick Lake
Every MHSAA eligible School is Invited to attend
This will be the first ever MHSAA Official Bass Fishing Event
The Bass Federation’s Student Angler Federation (SAF), Major League Fishing (MLF), and Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) have partnered to introduce bass fishing as an official MHSAA Activity. If you are a high school angler in Mississippi, this is your chance to make history by attending this inaugural event! We are excited to see this program begin and we invite you to join us.
In order to be eligible to fish in the MHSAA bass fishing program, your MSHAA affiliated school must be on MHSAA member list. If you or your current fishing team is not currently set up as a recognized school activity and would like to be, please reach out to your school’s athletic director or the MHSAA State Activities office and if you need help contact any of the participating partners (SAF, MLF or MHSAA).
All eligible teams who wish to fish this event must register for the MHSAA Invitational online at HighSchoolFishing.org by 8 a.m. Central time Monday, March 15, 2021.
Participation in MHSAA bass fishing does not restrict students from participating in non-MHSAA competitions or from participating on non-school teams at any time. For MHSAA competition, however, student contestants must be part of a MHSAA member school team and members of the TBF Student Angler Federation (SAF), which includes both TBF and MLF membership.
