1st Annual MHSAA-MAC Boys Underclassman Showcase set for June 22

9:30-10:00 am Registration/check-in for players and coaches.

At St. Andrews (main gym)

10:00-10:10 Welcome, announcements, and introductions from Mr. Robert Holloway & Coach Davidson

10:15-10:30 Stretching and Warm-Ups by Mississippi Sports Medicine personnel.

10:30- 12:00 Drills with the coaching staff.

Stations-12 minutes at each station; 2 minutes to rotate.

  1. Transition Offense Full Court – Competes Against Station 2
  2. Transition Defense Full Court – Competes Against Station 1
  3. Shooting Drills -Pull-Up Jump Shots & Mid-Range Transition Shots
  4. Rebounding the Basketball 4 o|n 4 Block Outs and Offensive Rebounding
  5. Contain, Protect, Contest – Individual & Help Side Defensive Concepts
  6. Ball Handling and Open Court Moves

12:05 -12:35 Guest Speakers—Lunch Break.

12:45- 1:45 FIRST SESSION OF GAMES— 3 Games Take Place

One Game takes place on each Court at a time.

Court 1 – Columbia vs. Black

Court 2 – Green vs. Maroon

Court 3 – Purple vs Red

 

1:50- 2:50 SECOND SESSION OF GAMES— 3 Games Take Place

One Game takes place on each Court at a time.

Court 1 – Gold vs Gray

Court 2 – Navy vs Orange

Court 3 – White vs Royal

 

2:55-3:55 THIRD SESSION OF GAMES.

One Game takes place on each Court at a time.

Court 1 – Gold vs Black

Court 2 – Navy vs Green

Court 3 – Purple vs Royal

 

4:00-5:00 FOURTH SESSION OF GAMES.

One Game takes place on each Court at a time.

Coaches Information – At each station, the MHSAA coaches will instruct the players what the focus of the station is, give brief demonstrations of the drill(s), and have the players “get after it” and let them play/ compete/ drill. Our goal is to utilize the station time to compete against each other and demonstrate their abilities while improving and developing their skills. Coach Davidson and Robert Holloway will monitor and rotate the stations
