Esports setup instructions

Earlier this year, the Mississippi High School Activities Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations sanctioned Esports as an activity for student participation. As part of this state initiative, each school has the opportunity to establish an esports program through the PlayVS online platform.

Esports is competitive video game play that requires skill, strategic thinking, teamwork, communication and leadership. Schools choosing to participate will be able to build up multiple esports teams and compete against other schools all through the PlayVS portal. This is a competitive interscholastic activity with no travel required.

Players just login to PlayVS on campus to compete against other schools, who are logged in at their own campus. The inaugural season will begin on October 15th and culminate at the end of January (TBD).

State associations will choose which games schools may play. Teams will be comprised of five students. More than one team per school can participate and compete.

To get your school program started, click the link below to quickly sign up on PlayVS. If you are not going to be the one overseeing the program, you will have the chance to invite the esports advisor to complete the sign-up process. It shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes to get your school set up.
