On June 1, 2018, LeAnna Dawson will assume the position of Assistant Director of Activities for the Mississippi High School Activities Association.

LeAnna is extremely qualified for the responsibilities of this position and comes to us highly recommended from those who have worked with her in the past” said Don Hinton, Executive Director of the MHSAA.
LeAnna Dawson has twenty-seven years teaching in Mississippi public schools. She worked with Title I in two separate school districts and spent ten years as cheer coach on the high school level. She has a master’s degree in secondary education and a master’s degree in history. LeAnna has worked on both the junior and senior high levels with eligibility for athletics and is familiar with both academic rules and NCAA regulations. She is and has been totally involved in community service activities and school/programs and served as adjunct professor for ten years at a local state university.
LeAnna is currently employed by the Rankin County School District and resides in Brandon with her husband, James.
