Simmons coach Wade Tackett says:
“Marquez probably gained 15 pounds since last year. From watching his film as a junior and now as a senior, he has gotten more physical. He just doesn’t get tackled by only one player. He’ll find the hole quickly, then power his way down the field. I think Marquez is a really good high school running back who’ll get even better in college. He’s probably our most vocal leader, a cheerleader on the sidelines and in practice. He’s a National Honor Society student and a ‘yes sir, no sir’ guy. He’s been in the spotlight for three years, but he knows how to handle it.”
