2024-2025 All-Sports Awards Winners Announced

  1. Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles
    Total Points: 297.5
    State Championships: Boys Cross Country, Boys Powerlifting, Boys Track, Girls Track
    How It Happened: The Eagles held onto the 1A All-Sports Awards for the second year in a row, improving their year-over-year total by more than 80 points. Looking at the results, it’s not hard to see why; TCPS tallied points in 16 sports – by far the highest total in the MHSAA’s smallest classification. In addition to the four state championships, the Eagles finished runner-up in girls cross country, girls soccer and tennis. They also reached the state semifinals in volleyball and placed fourth at the boys golf championship tournament.
  2. Myrtle Hawks
    Total Points: 200
    State Championships: Girls Cross Country
    How It Happened: The Hawks earned a second-place finish in Class 1A for a second year in a row, earning one state championship and narrowly missing a few more. The Hawks finished first runner-up in boys cross country and girls powerlifting and played for a state title in softball. They also reached the state quarterfinals in football and the semifinals in baseball.
  3. Biggersville Lions
    Total Points: 147.5
    State Championships: Girls Basketball
    How It Happened: After a somewhat slow Fall, the Biggersville athletic program rode strong performances from its Winter and Spring sports to a third-place finish in Class 1A for the second year in a row. The Lions clinched another state title in girls basketball, while the boys made a quarterfinal appearance, as did the Biggersville baseball and tennis teams. The boys bowling team also provided a boost, earning a third-place finish at the state championships in January.

  1. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Saints
    Total Points: 300
    State Championships: Boys Swimming, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Boys Track, Girls Track
    How It Happened: For the second year in a row, St. Andrew’s stood tall in Class 2A with six state titles and the All-Sports Award. In addition to their championships, the Saints also reached the state semifinals in tennis, girls soccer, and volleyball with a second-place finish in swimming at the Class I state championships, where they competed against Class 3A and 4A schools.
  2. East Union Urchins
    Total Points: 225
    State Championships: Girls Powerlifting, Softball, Baseball
    How It Happened: Don’t come to Blue Springs thinking you are going to beat the Urchins in a stick-and-ball sport. Twin championships in baseball and softball and a title repeat for the girls powerlifting team propelled East Union to its second-straight runner-up finish in Class 2A. The Urchins narrowly missed hanging a couple more banners, losing in the girls basketball championship game and finishing runner-up in both boys and girls cross country.
  3. Pisgah Dragons
    Total Points: 147.5
    State Championships: None
    How It Happened: When you see an athletic program ranked in the top three in their class with no championships, you know that school was competitive across the board. Pisgah scored major points by advancing deep into the playoffs in several sports, reaching the quarterfinals in tennis and girls soccer, the quarterfinals in boys soccer and baseball and finished the year with a berth in the softball championship series.

  1. St. Patrick Fighting Irish
    Total Points: 365
    State Championships: Girls Swimming, Boys Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Boys Golf, Tennis
    How It Happened: St. Patrick continues to plant its’ name at the top when it comes to the All-Sports Award. The Irish controlled the Class 3A field for the second year in a row, winning by 140 points last year and 130 points this year. Normally posting strong results in the country club sports, they also had great seasons in baseball, softball, and track & field this year. The five state championships were the most for the Irish since moving to Class 3A, beating last year’s record of three.
  2. Kossuth Aggies
    Total Points: 235
    State Championships: Girls Cross Country, Boys Bowling, Girls Bowling
    How It Happened: You’ve got to appreciate a school that appreciates bowling, and Kossuth certainly does. Their twin state championships at Fannin Lanes in January accounted for more than a quarter of their total points, but the Aggies were also competitive across the board. Kossuth reached the quarterfinals in volleyball, the semifinals in baseball and both the boys and girls powerlifting teams finished in second place at the state championship meet.
  3. Booneville Blue Devils
    Total Points: 215
    State Championships: Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Golf
    How It Happened: Booneville’s athletic teams earned points in just 12 sports, but they were more than just competitive in those 12. Basketball coach Michael Smith pulled off another two-for-one trip to Jackson, leaving the Big House with two more state championship trophies, and the golf program remained solid with a championship for the girls and a third-place finish for the boys. The Blue Devils also reached the quarterfinals in tennis, girls soccer, and volleyball while playing for a state title in softball.

  1. New Albany Bulldogs
    Total Points: 220
    State Championships: Girls Golf, Tennis
    How It Happened: The New Albany athletics program jumped from a third-place finish in 2023-24 to capture this year’s All-Sports Award for Class 4A. The Bulldogs started strong in the Fall, finishing runner-up in the state volleyball championships and fourth at the boys state cross country championships before deep playoff runs in football and boys and girls soccer. New Albany claimed second place in boys powerlifting and finished strong, winning a state title in girls golf and knocking off Sumrall in the tennis championship.
  2. Itawamba AHS Indians
    Total Points: 215
    State Championships: Softball, Archery
    How It Happened: Itawamba had the best year-over-year improvement in total points of any team in Class 4A, jumping 42.5 points from a fourth-place finish in 2023-24. They tallied points in 16 sports, highlighted by the two state championships in the Spring, a trip to the state semifinals for the boys basketball team and a fourth-place finish in girls golf.
  3. West Lauderdale Knights
    Total Points: 205
    State Championships: Boys Cross Country, Baseball
    How It Happened: West Lauderdale only tallied points in 10 sports, but what they did, they did well. In addition to the two state titles, the Knights finished runner-up in girls cross country and girls soccer, reached the state semifinals in football and played in the playoff quarterfinals in boys soccer, softball, and tennis.

  1. Corinth Warriors
    Total Points: 387.5
    State Championships: Boys Cross Country, Boys Powerlifting, Girls Powerlifting, Boys Track, Boys Golf, Girls Golf
    How It Happened: The Corinth athletic program flexed its muscles in 2025 after winning the 2023-24 award by 47.5 points. This year, the Warriors were a whopping 110 points clear of the field. The Warriors racked up six state championships, three runner-up finishes (in girls cross country, girls bowling and girls track) and put together deep playoff runs in six other sports.
  2. Lafayette Commodores
    Total Points: 277.5
    State Championships: Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Baseball
    How It Happened: The Commodores kicked off a productive Spring by winning the state title in volleyball and notching top-five finishes in boys and girls cross country. After winning twin titles on the soccer field, the Commodores had an incredibly strong finish to the year, with a state title in baseball, a runner-up finish in softball, a state semifinal appearance in tennis and top-five finishes in boys and girls golf.
  3. Pontotoc Warriors
    Total Points: 255
    State Championships: Girls Basketball
    How It Happened: Pontotoc High proved again to be one of the most consistently competitive schools across the board, notching a top-three finish in the Class 5A All-Sports Awards for the second year in a row. Pontotoc received points in 17 sports, and put together deep playoff runs in volleyball, boys and girls soccer, baseball and tennis. In addition to their state championship in girls basketball, the Warriors finished among the top three teams in boys cross country, girls powerlifting, and boys track.

  1. Saltillo Tigers
    Total Points: 270
    State Championships: Girls Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Baseball, Tennis
    How It Happened: The Class 6A All-Sports Award will remain in Saltillo after another big year for a proud Tigers’ program. Saltillo benefitted from a strong Fall season, especially in cross country, where the girls took home the title and the boys finished runner-up, and soccer, where the boys made the quarterfinals and the girls took home the big trophy. Runner-up finishes in girls and boys golf in the Spring were big, but it was the late championships in baseball and tennis that put the Tigers over the top.
  2. Warren Central Vikings
    Total Points: 247.5
    State Championships: None
    How It Happened: They might not have the state titles to prove it, but the Vikings were competitive across the board this year. Warren Central finished first runner-up in boys and girls swimming as well as reaching the state semifinals in football, boys and girls soccer and baseball.
  3. Neshoba Central Rockets
    Total Points: 210
    State Championships: Boys Cross Country
    How It Happened: In addition to the state championship in cross country, the Rockets were strong again in girls softball, earning a runner-up finish, and remained competitive in baseball, tennis, football and soccer. They were one of two Class 6A programs to earn points in both boys and girls bowling, finishing third and fourth, respectively, at the Class II Bowling State Championships.

  1. Tupelo Golden Wave
    Total Points: 365
    State Championships: Girls Cross Country, Football, Girls Basketball, Tennis
    How It Happened: Tupelo started the year strong, with runner-up finishes in both boys’ and girls’ swimming and boys’ cross country to go along with state championships in girls’ cross country and football to round out the Fall. Both the Golden Wave boys and girls reached the playoffs in soccer, basketball (where the girls won the title), tennis softball and baseball. Tupelo’s all-sports award title snaps at least a four-year winning streak for Madison Central.
  2. Madison Central Jaguars
    Total Points: 355
    State Championships: Girls Swimming, Boys Swimming, Boys Soccer, Boys Golf, Baseball
    How It Happened: It was not that perennial All-Sports Award holder Madison Central had a down year; in fact, the Jaguars actually surpassed their 2023-24 total of 345 points. It was just that kind of year in Tupelo. But Madison Central athletics still captured a whopping five state championships and finished runner-up in tennis and boys basketball.
  3. Ocean Springs Greyhounds
    Total Points: 295
    State Championships: Girls Bowling
    How It Happened: The Greyhounds came oh-so-close to capturing a slew of state titles during the 2024-2025 school year. Ocean Springs finished as runner-up in volleyball, girls cross country and girls track. This is the third year in a row the Greyhounds have finished in the top three in the MHSAA’s highest classification, finishing second in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24.
