Baldwyn High School defeated Shaw High School 40-36 in a semifinal game on Feb. 24, 2025.
Baldwyn led 11-8 after the first quarter before Shaw took control in the third, building a nine-point lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the period. Baldwyn responded, closing the gap and outscoring Shaw 14-4 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Carter Craven led Baldwyn with 16 points, shooting 4-for-9 from the field and making three three-pointers. Kylan Tate added 11 points, including three three-pointers. The team shot 37.8% overall and 30% from beyond the arc.
Janerrick Isler led Shaw with 15 points, making three three-pointers. Demetrick Price Jr. added 14 points and seven rebounds. Shaw shot 35% overall and 26.7% from three-point range but committed 13 turnovers.
Shaw’s largest lead was nine points early in the third quarter, while Baldwyn’s biggest advantage was seven points in the first quarter. The game featured two ties and two lead changes.
