Excessive heat warnings in Mississippi

The weather is not ideal for the fall season at this time, but as usual we are continuing to conduct our activities in a way that keeps our students as safe as possible. Once again we caution everyone to follow the WBGT mandate for practices and any outdoor activities. Keep cool tubs available for these along with plenty of hydration and extended brakes.

For the scrimmages this Friday and Saturday we will be notifying all officials that they are to allow more timeouts and slow down the scrimmage pace if needed. Coaches are also allowed to ask for additional timeouts during these scrimmages. Cold tubs should be available on the sideline for these scrimmages as an added precaution.
Just be careful and use all precautions as we continue to battle the heat and look for updates as we get them. Good luck and we appreciate all you do to keep the student athletes in our state safe.
