To reduce the crowd and participant numbers in each race due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the following formulas will be used for our 2020 State Cross Country Championships.
- Only the top 60 percentile of teams in each class (based on Milesplit top 5 average for the season) will qualify for the state meet. A team must run in a minimum of three meets during the season to be eligible to qualify to run in the state meet!
- Qualify the top 25 individuals in each class (based on Milesplit ranking for the season) whose teams don’t qualify for the state meet and meet the time standards set for each class.
Boys Girls
6A 21:30 25:30
5A 22:00 26:00
4A 22:30 26:30
3A 23:00 27:00
2A 23:30 27:30
1A 24:00 28:00
- Using the above method, the possible maximum number of individuals in the largest race (4A Boys) would be 172, with all other races being 151 or less!
Using last year’s numbers with the above formula (the actual number of teams to qualify will be less this year due to the fact that many schools will not be fielding a team):
6A Boys 18 teams out of 30 teams qualify for the state meet
6A Girls 17 teams out of 26 teams qualify for the state meet
5A Boys 14 teams out of 23 teams qualify for the state meet
5A Girls 13 teams out of 21 teams qualify for the state meet
4A Boys 21 teams out of 35 teams qualify for the state meet
4A Girls 17 teams out of 28 teams qualify for the state meet
3A Boys 12 teams out of 20 teams qualify for the state meet
3A Girls 12 teams out of 20 teams qualify for the state meet
2A Boys 10 teams out of 16 teams qualify for the state meet
2A Girls 10 teams out of 16 teams qualify for the state meet
