Richey Woods has been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 29 years following his graduation from Warren Central High School and Southern Miss.
Richey started with Mississippi Sports Medicine in 1991 and moved to Cleveland soon thereafter to work in the Mississippi Delta. He is a familiar sideline presence at many high schools in the region.
An original member of the MHSAA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, Richey is a past president of the Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association. He was the state’s Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2016 and a National Athletic Trainer service award winner in 2019.
He also serves as an adjunct professor at Delta State.
