In conjunction with this week’s Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Gridiron Classic, the Text to Win contest has returned for a seventh year — and that means a chance for all 12 participating schools to win $1,000 designated for their physical education departments.
The week-long contest — which began Monday — matches schools and communities against their football opponents Friday and Saturday at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the campus of the USM in Hattiesburg. The school in each of the six games that receives the most texts to a designated keyword is the winner. Each of the six competitions end at halftime of that particular game.
“Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is proud to support Mississippi high school athletics and physical education,” said Meredith Bailess, Director, Corporate Communications for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi. “We believe these programs are helping to establish a strong foundation for healthy habits throughout life. Our partnership with the Mississippi High School Activities Association furthers our shared commitment to a healthy future for our students and our state.”
