East Union, South Pontotoc and Neshoba Central took home titles Oct. 20thin the 31stannual MHSAA C Spire Slow-Pitch Softball State Championships at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.
In Class I, East Union defeated Eupora 14-6 and 25-16 to win its first slow-pitch title. The Lady Urchins finished 31-3-1, while the runner-up Lady Eagles went 24-8.
In Class II, South Pontotoc defeated five-time defending state champion Newton County 12-11, 0-15 and 11-7. South Pontotoc finished 30-6, while Newton County went 32-6.
In Class III, Neshoba Central defeated Wayne County 16-11 and 16-0. The Lady Rockets finished 32-1 en route their seventh straight slow-pitch title. The Lady War Eagles went 28-9.
