Attention Powerlifting coaches, Baseball coaches, Softball coaches and Track coaches:
Because of a conflict with the coliseum, the date for powerlifting state championship has been change to April 21. This has caused some issues with the regional track meet and the playoffs for other sports. The following accommodations have been arranged to try to allow our student athletes every opportunity to compete.
Any student who is involved in a regional track meet on the 21st can weigh in on Friday, April 20th at 3:30 p.m. and lift beginning at 7:30 that night. The lifts will be judged and recorded to be included in the meet on the following day. Their names must to be turned in to the MHSAA office by emailing Mr. Neaves by Thursday April19th at noon.
Lifters involved in baseball and softball will be allowed to weigh in at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, and will lift with their teams that day. Their names must be turned in to the MHSAA office by emailing Mr. Neaves by Friday April 20th at noon. They will have only one chance to make their weight and must be in line to weigh in by 6:00 a.m.
Baseball and softball teams that have lifters involved in the powerlifting meet can reschedule their playoffs for the following days:
Softball may play on April 19th and 20th or April 20th and 23rd. This will allow powerlifters on the team to weigh in and lift on Saturday. These dates are only allowed for schools that have lifters that have qualified for the State Powerlifting Meet.
Baseball may play on April 19th, 20th, and 23rd or April 20, 23, and 24. This will allow lifters on the team to weigh in and lift on Saturday.
Reminder, in order for the students to do this, their names must be submitted by emailing Mr. Neaves before the aforementioned date and if weighing in on Saturday, must be in line for the 6:00 weigh in.
