MHSAA volleyball semifinals, championships Thursday, Saturday at MSU

A dozen of Mississippi’s best volleyball teams will converge in Starkville for the

MHSAA/Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi State Championships on Thursday and Saturday on the campus of Mississippi State University in Starkville.

Thursday, October 26 (Semifinals)

Class I              3:00 PM           Alcorn Central vs. Our Lady Academy
Class I              3:00 PM           Resurrection vs. St. Andrew’s
Class II             5:00 PM           Germantown vs. Lake Cormorant
Class II             5:00 PM           Lewisburg vs. Vancleave
Class III            7:00 PM           Brandon vs. Tupelo
Class III            7:00 PM           DeSoto Central vs. Hancock

Saturday, October 28 (Championships)

Class I              11:00 AM
Class II             1:00 PM
Class III            3:00 PM

The event — which brings together all four semifinalists in each of the three classifications — is being at held at the Newell-Grissom Building, the 2,000-seat venue for MSU’s collegiate volleyball matches. The facility’s spacious floor and seating allow for semifinal matches in each classification to be played simultaneously. Newell-Grissom will be occupied Friday for preparation leading up to that night’s MSU-University of Alabama match.

Admission is $10 and good for all MHSAA matches that day.

All championship matches on Saturday will be livestreamed on the MHSAA Network’s Mississippi channel at www.misshsaa.tv.

Hancock and Our Lady Academy are returning state champions from 2016.
