The MHSAA’s Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi State Track and Field meet returns to Pearl High School for the 14th consecutive year Saturday and Monday.
The Class 5A/3A/1A championships begin Friday morning at 11 with the long jump, triple jump and pole vault. The rest of the field events begin at noon. The first of the 4 x 800-meter relays starts at 11:15 a.m. Those races are followed by four of the six finals in the 3,200 meters. The remainder of the running events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Last year’s boys team champions were Pearl (Class 6A), Oxford (5A), Senatobia (4A), Tylertown (3A), Bassfield (2A) and Myrtle (1A).
Last year’s girls team champions were Clinton (6A), Oxford (5A), McComb (4A), Tylertown (3A), Winona (2A) and Tupelo Christian (1A).
Tickets are $10 at the gate. Most of the running events will be streamed live on the Internet beginning at 3 p.m. Friday and again at 3 p.m. Saturday on the NFHS Network’s Mississippi Channel at www.misshsaa.tv.
