CONGRATULATIONS to all sixteen schools and teams who participated in the MHSAA Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Soccer State Championships this past Saturday.
· West Lauderdale defeated Richland 7-0 to win the Class 4A girls title and finish with a 23-0 record.
· Oxford finished a 19-0 season by defeating West Harrison 2-0 for the Class 5A girls title.
· In Class 3A/2A/1A girls, Sacred Heart defeated South Pontotoc 7-0.
· In Class 3A/2A/1A boys, St. Patrick defeated Forest 4-0.
· In Class 4A boys, Florence won out 3-2 in penalty kicks over Bay High to settle a 1-1 tie and take home the championship trophy.
· In Class 5A boys, Oxford defeated West Jones 3-0 .
· In Class 6A girls, Northwest Rankin defeated Ocean Springs 2-1 in overtime.
· In Class 6A boys, Northwest Rankin defeated Ocean Springs 2-0.
