Head Football Coach Position
Qualifications:
Required – State head coaching championship experience – Valid Mississippi Educator License
Job Summary:
The person hired for this position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in football. The person hired for this position will also oversee the football program grades 9-12 and provide guidance for five middle school teams (grades 7 & 8).
Wayne County Football Tradition
Wayne County is a 5-A public school with an enrollment of 950 and a strong history in football including four state titles since 2000, the most recent in 2015. The War Eagles play in a football facility with a new turf field, a new field house, and a state-of-the-art weight room. Formed in 1989, the school has an overall record of 260-124 and since 2000 the overall record is 209-57. The War Eagles have been to the MHSAA playoffs 19 of the last 20 years.
Two hall of famers and two future hall of famers have coached the War Eagles.
