1. If the referee stops the clock for an apparent injury to a field player or goalkeeper, the field player or goalkeeper will have to leave the field. The field player may be replaced, and the goalkeeper must be replaced.

The jurisdiction of the officials shall begin on their arrival at the field of play and its immediate surroundings, which shall be no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the game.

Sportsmanship: Players, coaches, game officials and spectators must use appropriate language and refrain from insulting, offensive and/or abusive language or gestures.

Communication: Game officials are encouraged to effectively communicate with one another as well as with players and coaches throughout the game.

Penalty Kick: Once the approach to the ball has started, the kicker’s movement may not be interrupted. A continuous forward motion throughout the approach is necessary. If continuous forward motion does not occur, the restart is a retake of the penalty kid regardless of whether a goal is scored or not.

Goalkeepers: Goalkeepers can wear the same-colored socks as their teammates but not their opponents. Goalkeepers must have a number on the front of their jerseys or shorts/pants and on the back of their jerseys.

2015-16 Soccer Rules Clinic

Soccer Games - A total of 21 games is the maximum number of contests that a team may play. (scheduled games plus tournaments = 21)

Immediately after 1st round of the playoffs, (January 25) teams that advance must submit a team program roster and a team photo to MHSAA (these may be submitted earlier)

NFHS Soccer Rules:

 4-1-1 (a)
The home team shall wear solid white jerseys and solid white socks, and the visiting team shall wear dark jerseys and socks (dark is defined as any color which contrasts with white). Prior to and during the game, jerseys shall be tucked into the shorts, unless manufactured to be worn outside.

4-1-1 (b) Both socks shall be the same color, with the home team wearing solid white socks and the visiting team wearing socks of a single dominant color, but not necessarily the color of the jersey. If tape or a similar material is applied externally to the socks, it must be of a similar color as that part of the sock to which it is applied

Game Balls

All game balls used during regular season and state playoff contests must have the National Federation Stamp.
