1. Arm sleeves, knee sleeves, lower leg sleeves and tights may be worn during the game; however, they must be black, white, beige or the predominant color of the uniform. All team members must wear the same solid color. Anything worn on the arm or leg is defined as a sleeve, except a knee brace.

The definition of an intentional foul was expanded to include excessive contact with an opponent while the ball is live or until the airborne shooter returns to the floor.

On a free throw attempt, players along the lane spaces now may enter the lane on the release of the ball by the free throw shooter. The free throw shooter and the players outside of the 3-point line must wait for the ball to hit the ring or backboard, or the free throw to end, before moving into the lane area.

2. The following acts constitute a foul when committed against a ball handler/dribbler:

a. Placing two hands on the player.

b. Placing an extended arm on the player.

c. Placing and keeping a hand on the player.

d. Contacting the player more than once with the same hand or alternating hands.

1. The solid colors of the ball shall be Orange #151, Red-Orange #173 or Brown #1535 taken from the Pantone Matching System (PMS), effective 2019-20.

Rules on Headbands and Wristbands

Rule 3-5-3 Page 26 of the NF Basketball Rule Book

Wristbands and headwear must meet the following guidelines:

  1. Headbands and wristbands must be white, black, beige or a single solid color similar to the torso of the jersey and must be the same color for each item and all participants. See 3-6 for logo requirements.
  2. A headband is any item that goes around the entire head. If worn, only one headband is permitted, it must be worn on the forehead/crown, it must be nonabrasive and unadorned, and it must be a maximum of 2 inches.
  3. If worn, only one wristband is permitted on each wrist, each must be worn on the arm below the elbow, each must be moisture-absorbing, nonabrasive and unadorned, and each must be a maximum of 4 inches.
  4. Rubber, cloth or elastic bands may be used to control hair. Hard items, including, but not limited to, beads, barrettes and bobby pins, are prohibited.
  5. Head decorations and headwear, except those specified above, are prohibited.

Rule 3-6-1

One visible manufacturer's logo/trademark/reference or school logo/mascot is permitted on the wristbands, headband and compression shorts (3-5-3, 3-5-6).

The thin "rubberband like" headband is illegal because it has more than 1 logo/name.
