Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC)
The purpose of JROTC is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. The JROTC units in our schools provide wellness and physical fitness instruction, support healthy life style choices, and support student behaviors that contribute to safe school environments. In Mississippi, JROTC can serve as a substitute for the physical education and health education graduation requirements.
Information regarding each of the four military JROTC programs, including procedures for requesting establishment of a JROTC unit, can be found on the military service JROTC web sites.
There are a total of 85 JROTC units, and one National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) unit, in Mississippi. For unit contact information for the 52 Army JROTC units, 18 Air Force JROTC units, 12 Navy JROTC units, and 3 Marine Corps JROTC units and 1 NDCC unit in Mississippi, click on the appropriate link.
